Discovering the south of France starts right here

On days where you don’t fancy climbing up Cathar castles, skiing in the Pyrénées or sailing the Med in a catamaran, you’ll find plenty to do right here at La Baraquette. Being a vineyard estate, there will be regular wine-related events happening, from hosted wine tasting sessions in the Owners’ Wine Cellar, to helping pick grapes with friends during the annual grape harvest (or ‘vandange’).

Wind down...or up...

In the hotel’s spa, you can spend the day being pampered and beautified with a wide range of treatments, or simply sink into a warm Jacuzzi with a glass of bubbly and admire the sea view. For the more active, head for the gym - for a spinning class or torture session with the weights.

The gym, spa and indoor pool at the estate's 5-star hotel will be the best in the region, and the views across the vineyards and sea will get your heart racing.

Wines, cheeses, charcuterie and oysters...

With food such an integral part of the culture of this area of France, we’ll be running regular ‘tastings’ of more than just wine. We’ll be exploring local cheeses such as chèvre and roquefort (introduced by a local expert), as well as olive oils from the region, all manner of ‘charcuterie’ and of course, opportunities to compare the different oysters farmed just in front of the estate. There will also be demonstrations by top chefs in the area - showing you how to prepare traditional and modern dishes using local ingredients.

Delicious charcuterie is made throughout the region, especially in the Pyrénées. Join us for a tasting of the most mouth-watering hams and 'saucissons' and find out how they're made.
